Nicole Sanders, PLPC

Nicole Dwyer Sanders holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans. She offers regulation, coping, and trauma modalities and believes there is power in the ability to regulate one’s nervous system. Previously working with addiction, trauma, relational problems, and anxiety, she has utilized a wholistic approach that encompasses exploring family genograms, relational connections, and societal systems. She actively attempts to navigate any cultural barriers and stigma associated with mental health, especially with historically marginalized populations. She utilizes Family Systems, Polyvagal, mindfulness approaches and will begin EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

She views supports and relationships as important, with self-acceptance as being an ultimate goal. Nicole acknowledges that while growth can take time, space, and discomfort, and is a non-linear path, it can also encompass strength, resilience, joy, and humor. Her main focus is to create a welcoming and collaborative space, honor your lived experience, help with feeling your emotions (mind and body), and experience growth through exploration.
